Itinerary description

Nothing is more perfect than a snowshoeing excursion immediately after snowfall.
My friend Chris is leaving to visit family in Europe and wanted to do one outing before he leaves. Two more adventurers were recruited for the mission.
Tuesday January 25, 2022 was the only clear day and perfect temperature for this adventure and off we went.
The trail started from the outskirts of Ehmej (next to Boski store). The trail is well known and familiar to us. We started into the woods going uphill where the only colors were black and white with the occasional green tree that was able to shake off its white coat. we kept going uphill until we reached the intersection of Ehmej and Ishtar trail; we then took a right turn and walked a section of Ishtar trail (one km) to reach the ruins of an abandoned cellar where we had lunch. After lunch, the trail went back to Ehmej and climbed up another 70+ meters (ASL) to reach the peak of our trail and went on a downhill slope back to cars.

The snow was fresh; actually we were the first group to set foot in the forest, save the wolves, foxes, and wild boars. It was difficult to navigate the snow (every step our feet went down and up 15 cm) which required extra energy but it was worth every second we spent it there.

I am ranking it as moderate for seasoned hikers but difficult for beginners.
