Itinerary description
The route starts at the old railway station of Canfranc. The station was built in the beginning of the 20th century. The station, on its own, is worth a visit to the town. The track goes up gently through the forest of pines, firs, beeches, etc. The tracks are the ancient roads used by the pack animals that carried materials to build the protections anti snow-avalanches of the station. It is a comfortable route. It was my first important route with snowshoes and I loved it. Our guide Paco (from Pirinea Nordic, +34-642 68 52 88, www.pirineanordic.com) was an excellent companion. He knows everything: history, traces of animals, mountain, snow, etc. It was a great company
