Itinerary description

I've done this route in the summer but with the right conditions it is much easier in the winter with snowshoes/crampons. The route begins on the Annette Lake trail and then turns west on the Iron Horse trail. At the west end of the snowshed begin the ascent in the woods and find an on-again, off-again trail which will take you to the tree line. From here, there is some serious bush-wacking in the summer and in the winter it's ice-axe and crampons or snowshoes across the avalanche shoot. (This area continually avalanches so conditions in the winter must be ideal.) From here you can gain the false summit and traverse the ridge or head directly to the main summit though it is easy to get off track so make sure to set your course correctly. With snow in the right conditions, on the return there can be some of the best (longest) glasades in the Snoqualmie Pass area.
