Itinerary description

Winter arrived late this year but it was generous. Heavy snow at relatively low altitudes. I usually see the ponds and orchards of Kfarselwan while climbing Mount Kneisseh from Tarchich but this is the first time i visit the ponds fully covered by snow starting from the village. First, i have to mention that this hike was done in winter (full snow) and the recorded trail my not be valid in other seasons (this is the case of all trails recorded in different seasons). The covered distance is not long (around 7 km) but snowshoeing is physically demanding especially on fresh snow so do not underestimate it. We started from the road leading to the village of Kfarselwan from Tarchich side and we followed several snow-covered trails among the icy ponds. Some parts are steep and slippery. Choose your route wisely, zigzagging is a good technique on steep slopes. We reached the upper trail overlooking Kneisseh. Sceneries around are amazing especially the mighty Sannine in snow. After having our lunch with the view, we closed our loop from the east through apple orchards and ponds. Enjoy winter time and stay safe.
