Itinerary description
Behind the Monastery, take the path down towards the wooden bridge over the river. Follow the path up after crossing the river. Before reaching a road, turn right and go up a bit steeper than the alternative to the left (from where you will come back). Pass a refuge on your left and go up on a rather large paths. You'll reach a little hut (Chaux du Vent Devant) and have a short but steep climb after. We were motivated enough to do an extra bit for a better view.
Basically follow the signs "Parcours Valsainte Vounetz" and you will reach Vounetz.
At the top. go around the house where the cabins arrive and then left down along the sledge piste. For quite a while, you will have the sledge piste on your left, until La Scie station.
Eventually you reach a parking and a road. Go left and continue along the road, with the path sometimes on the road. You'll reach the crossing where before we climbed right up and follow the path back to Valsainte.
Moderate for the climb and the steep descent in some parts, otherwise easy.
Snowshoed in February 2022 with lots of snow after leaving Valsainte.
