Itinerary description
This trail starts at Arz Ehmej. You can rent Snowshoes from there but you have to reserve in advance. Heading in wadi el Siyyar, follow the blue signs on your way (Ehmej trail). The first part is not very pleasant since you can see the main road, but soon after it you’ll find yourself lost in nature again. The trail passes then by Jouwar l Naaes ponds that are beautifully iced during this season. From there, head left on a snowy ascent to reach a view of Laqlouq. You can continue up to reach el Mat2oubeh cave (not on this recording), or continue down on a snowy passage to get the Ehmej-Laqlouq main road. After a short passage on the main road, head right towards Saydet el Ramliye church, and continue on the LMT Ehmej-Laqlouq side trail (purple and yellow signs). This is a very beautiful part, mostly ascent, that takes you between two summits, from where you get a view of Laqlouq highlands. Head down till reaching the plateau, then down back to the Ehmej-Laqlouq main road. After crossing the road, you can either continue on the main road till reaching Arz Ehmej (starting point), or take the Arz Ehmej trail (you will find a LMT sign to know from where to take this side trail).
No technical difficulties in this trail, acceptable ascents, snowshoes needed for most of the trail but there are some rocky parts where you need to remove them and just hike. Enjoy hikers!
