The "Lyngen Alps" are an absolutely remarkable and beautiful protected area, a kingdom for ski touring or downhill skiing without a lift. Athletes do not "hiking", they go up in skins to go down the slope on skis or snowboard. They have surfboards that can be split in two to "ski" up.
Now, the region is splendid.
The walk on snowshoes or on foot is very beautiful given the clearings it gives.
Here the slope is not too steep and the risk of avalanches probably minimal. There is still a small passage under a corridor. We didn't make it to the top because of the risk of avalanche.
Russelv is also one of those amazing places, lost at the end of the world. It lacks a small bar facing the arctic with a view of the Lyngens.
If you use this route, please rate it so we can improve.
Good walk.
