Itinerary description
A beautiful snowshoeing loop in Qehmez and Hrajel highlands. I parked just after Jabal moussa reserve (Qehmez entrance) bifurcation. Lot of snow after last week storm. I started my climb east. The ascent is moderate and i reached soon a beautiful white plateau. The way continues up and intersects with the LMT section 12 (Afqa-Hrajel). Following the LMT towards Hrajel, the trail goes up following a zigzag before reaching a smaller plateau. Look north and you will have a splendid view: Tellaj Ehmej, Namroud, Laklouk, Saydet el Qarn, jroud el Aqoura and Tannourine highlands. The descent to Nabeh El Qana in Hrajel highlands is wonderful. Lot of springs on your way from melting snow. Soon after Nabeh el Qana, i left the LMT and went west towards Hrajel highlands ponds, following several dirt road covered by snow. Another set of beautiful sceneries to the south: Mzaar, Faqra, Ouyoun el simane and Sannine far in the background. There is no trail here. The snow is covering the whole area. Enjoy taking the path that you want but try to reach the mountain pass i marked as a waypoint. The descent from here is easy and the loop is closed following snow covered dirt roads. This loop is definitely more beautiful (and more difficult) in winter but it is certainly nice in others seasons as well. It's a calm section and you will rarely find people hiking there. I highly recommend.

Hello Rami, Thank you for the informative trail, I have some questions
Is it good to do in mid February?
Is it easy to follow the GPS trail directions?
From where can i rent a snowshoe equipment if I don't have with normal prices?
Hello Mohamed,
- it is good to do it any time of the year. In mid february, it will be snowshoeing (hopefully)
- Easy to follow
- You can rent snowshoes from any sports shop (sports experts, maison du ski, sports4ever...)
Enjoy!
