Itinerary description
This is not an official snowshoe trail, but we found it well maintained all through.
From Salvan station, go up the metal stairs and up the road, towards Les Granges. After, follow for Van d'en Bas. After Les Granges, leave the road in a curve to the left, where you go straight up into the forest. Follow the forest path until you hit another road, turn right and continue climbing up. When reaching the Auberge, cross the road and go up into the hamlet (abandoned in winter). We followed a path through the hamlet and out again until we hit the road again. Turn right and follow the road a few minutes until you see a bridge on the left. Cross the bridge and follow the path left. Follow the path until you hit the same road again where you walked up before.
Instead of walking back the same way along the road, we kept right and walked up a bit more. Cross the next road and stay in the forest on a small path. Further down, turn left towards Salvan and follow for the sign for the train station.
Walked in January 2021 in easy 4 hours with two little breaks.
Moderate only because not an official trail.
