Itinerary description
Beautiful loop in all seasons but very special in winter. There are usually guard dogs (there is a quarry at the beginning of the trail) but they are not aggressive. They bark but don't "attack" people. If you have a dog, make sure to keep it attached at the beginning and at the end of the walk. The way goes up slowly till you reach a telecom station. Soon after the station, you will have to leave the trail and start your climb to the summit following the ridge with many hills on your way. This line is the natural border between Bekaa and Mount Lebanon governorates. Sceneries are stunning all around. Bekaa valley to the east, Metn villages to the west and Sannine to the north. Mount Hermon and the sea are seen as well in good weather. At the top of mount Kneisseh 2100 m , you will find an abandoned building, Tele Liban Channel 11, destroyed by an air raid in 1982 war. It is usually windy, cold and foggy at the summit especially in winter so make sure to have appropriate winter clothes. The way back follows trails in kfarselwan highlands and you will reach back the common route from telecom station to the starting point.
