Itinerary description
I did the same trail in summer, but I wanted to have that pic from the view point in winter too with the mountains all covered with snow. Doing the hike around the lake is quite easy. No particular skills are required and the trail is so obvious. You just go around the dam and lake.
But going up to the rock is something else. The snow was fresh and powdery.
You have to go uphill 130 m in one shot. It was really slippery and challenging but the view is worth it.
You can see the statue of Saint Charbel, Faraya village, the dam, Mzaar - Kfardebian till the Mediterranean sea on a clear day.
As I have already said, the hike is easy unless you want to reach the view point.
Enjoy the place and keep it clean !!!

very nice and easy but I couldn't get to the rock. I will come back in summer
Glas you did it Toufic. All the luck for next time. Cheers
Hello tony, are snowshoes necessary for this trail or do you think it can be done without it?
Hello Rita. At this time of the year you definitely need snowshoes. Keep in mind that the ascent to the rock is a bit demanding in spring and summer. So in winter, with snow covering the area and snowshoes it is much more difficult.
Anyway the view from up and the pics you get are worth. Enjoy :) cheers
