Itinerary description
I LOVE IT.
Even better than what I was expecting.
I like it when I do something, with no planning ahead, and it turns out to be one of the best things i did in a while.
This was the case today.
I parked the car on the side of the road, right after the gas station in Qamez and started my ascent.
The place is all covered with more than 1m of snow and we are almost in April.
The condition of the snow and the weather were perfect.
From 1.6 km till 2.2 km from the starting point, it was a hard way to the top of the mountain. I took it one step at a time, slowly but didn't stop till I got to the top.
Rio was with me, and from the beginning, a dog was following us and got along very well with Rio.
He stayed with us till we reached the highest point and wanted to go down on the other side. He just turned around and returned home. He was a good companion.
The way down was even better with the view over Hrajel till I reached "Nabaa El Qana", passed by a small church and ended up walking between the covered apple trees.
From there, it was going uphill again and closing the loop.
At an altitude of 1691, the highest point in this hike, I was standing on a rock formation. "Chwar El Qmaqem" with an awesome view over Qamez and its artificial lakes.
It was a day to remember, challenging but I ended up with a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment.
The hike was moderate with breathtaking scenery.
