Six-day winter trip, with pulkas and snowshoes, through the National Park of Lemmenjoki in Finnish Lapland.
The route is very flat except for a couple of sections in which you have to overcome a small gap. We also made three short excursions starting from the cabins Kultahamina and Ravadasjärvi where we slept (the first night, the coldest, we slept in tents at almost - 30 ºC).
Recommended for anyone who has enjoyed reading stories of polar crossings or Jack London, watching Dersu Uzala, etc., and who wants to experience the solitude of the polar regions being still two steps from civilization. If, in addition, you go in a group with people willing and fun as it happened to me, much better.
The cabins are equipped with a fireplace, leftover wood (yes, you must go to the woodcutter to cut logs to replace the one you have burned) wooden bunk beds and gas stove. There is no running water, of course, and you have to get it by melting snow (Kultahamina) by drilling the ice sheet over the lake with a berbiquí (Ravadasjärvi) or by looking for a nearby stream (Morgamoja hut).
Essential a thermos to carry hot water all day and prepare a tea, a soup or to mix with snow and mineral salts and have fresh water.
In one of the photos you can see a comparison between traces of reindeer and elk, in another an aurora borealis, one of the phenomena that most wanted to see in the world. To photograph them, it is necessary to take a camera with the possibility of exposure of many seconds, I used around 25-40 seconds for each photo.

Acampando junto al lago Hanhijärvi (järvi significa lago) después de un buen rato pisando la nieve con las raquetas para asentarla. Después de limpiar de puntos erráticos el tramo que hay antes de llegar a Morgamoja (cosa que se me olvidó cuando colgué el track) compruebo que el recorrido total sale 72,2 km en vez de los 74 que aparecen aquí.

Buenas! Tiene muy buena pinta la ruta!! ¿Las cabañas son libres o se gestionan a través de las empresas que ofrecen las travesías? Gracias!
Que yo sepa las cabañas/ refugios del recorrido son libres. En una de ellas coincidimos con dos personas más. Lo que no se es si habría que pedir algún permiso para utilizarlas antes o dar aviso de ello.
Hola. Que yo sepa son libres, siempre que no estén ya ocupadas claro. Lo único que piden es que las dejes en el mismo estado que estaban. Si usas leña pues deja después leña cortada para el siguiente. La última tenía hasta butano para cocinar.

Si vas en grupo hay que pagar una tasa al gobierno finlandés y firmar un contrato. Si vas en grupo organizado y no haces eso estás infringiendo la ley finlandesa. Si vas por tu cuenta y sois menos de 5 son libres.
