Itinerary description
This was my first time on this trail and I was a little out of shape. I was on snowshoes all day - they weren't really needed for the first part of the trail, but once past the refuge, the trail was much less travelled and I wouldn't have wanted to be without snowshoes.
The trail is in very good shape, rated moderate only because of the slope - and that might just be my conditioning :-). The ascent includes about 25 minutes of rest, snacking, and conversation with other snowshoers, the descent is direct with only one brief stop to remove layers.
