Itinerary description
I had planned this swim as described in the trail called “Tossa - Caleta de Concagats - Sant Feliu de Guixols (original plan)”.
And this is how it turned out: :)
Tossa de Mar - Platja de Candell 8.1 km
What a crazy swim! First day beautiful clear sky and sun. Sea was like a lake (19oC). I had a quick Stop to refuel after 1:50h and after that was in such a groove that I missed Caleta de Concagat! Just passed by without noticing! After 2,5hrs I realized that I missed my bivvy spot and that it was getting late. Just when I decided to get out wherever it’s possible to sleep I got into a massive school of Jellyfish just underneath the water surface. Spend half an hour breaststroking and zigzagging around them (got one hit though). Got out on a beach with large round pebbles. But found an OK spot to bivvy on half dried seaweed. I swam 8.1 km! Crazy!
Beautiful starlit nite, but loud waves crushing on the pebbles.
Day 2 got into the water around 9 to do the last 3km to Feliu. After 30 min the weather turned bad in just a few minutes. Strong cold easterly wind (Levante). Decided not to swim around the last cape because waves were already 2m and wind got stronger. Made an exit at some rocks with a metal leather that belonged to a private apartment complex. Took me 15 minutes to catch the right wave and not hurt myself... toughest exit so far... ouf. What a swim!

Hey Antoine! Thanks for your message! Yes, these swims are really special (not the sports, the nature experience ;)
Unfortunately I just moved to Berlin two weeks ago so for me it’s now the many lakes and Baltic Sea…. Where are you based?
