I have followed this trail  View more

I rode this trail solo on my CRF 250L Rally on 4th July 2020. The conditions and weather were perfect for riding.

It would be better to state that this route really starts at Le Fayet because the first 70km is a blast along the highway. Following that, the routes over the mountains were excellent with spectacular views and wide gravel roads. Very enjoyable riding.

Similiar to the start, it could also be argues that the route could end in Bourg St. Maurice, as I believe that the rest is 100% tarmac after that. The tarmac road through Val d'Isere is still a very nice ride, but I personally would have preferred a gravel option.

As most of the route is on tarmac, the whole journey took me about 6 hours. I would recommend this route for those without much offroad experience as well as to those riding big bikes. However, if I was to do it again, I would have a break in Bourg St. Maurice, then turn around and head home the same way rather than continue on tarmac.
