Itinerary description
The main road follows a wash the entire way in so expect a lot of loose gravel. Once you get near the water the fun factor goes way up as there are numerous side trails to explore on the East side. The side trails turn into powdery sugar sand in places and are a blast to tear around in. If you have a 4x4 and know how to use it, there are some awesome camping spots to be found. Get there early, though, as most of the spots were occupied early on a Sunday morning. Difficulty can easily flip between easy and moderate depending on how comfortable you are riding in loose sand and gravel.
