Itinerary description

The beginning of this trail is quite unassuming. It start off as a very narrow road with green tumbleweed on both sides of the road which is quite willing to apply desert pinstriping to your vehicle. Road is quite good except for the tumbleweed and a few rough spots. This trail is good for 4x4 and especially good for motorcycles.

You cannot ride on the dunes, so the dunes are quite pristine with towering mountains in the background. I do not recommend walking on the dunes in the heat of the summer. Much of the area west of the trail is part of the military shooting/bombing range. Area 51 is about 40 miles Northwest.
