Itinerary description
I rode down the Carreterra International trying to stay on as much dirt road as possible.
There was one moment that was scary when I arrived at the Haitian border market and was surrounded with hundreds of people in the road selling their goods. They literally engulfed my bike and it took about 10 minutes to pass through the market road.
Next time, I'd hire a Dominican army guy to accompany me for this section.
There are some beautiful views along this route.
In places the road was washed away or falling apart. I always chose to ride those routes. If some of my tracks are too hard for you to ride, there are always obvious alternative routes to take.
