Itinerary description
For UK Riders of Enduro Bikes - This is the complete TransPortugal route (that I borrowed and followed) from ADVRider, HUBB and other forum sources.
Takes about 6-7 days going steady and I would probably suggest something smaller than a big GS to do this on, There's not a lot of turning space on some tracks incase you get it wrong.
Rocky in the middle with a prevelanceof sand in the south.
Have Fun!

xtz 660z - would that be ok ?
Hey Richard - thanks for uploading this.
Saw the pics on Ondoibili's blog - what a beautiful route. Those pics really made me want to try the route. Fair play to him for sharing it too. :-)
Did you camp on the route, or is there B&B accommodation along the way?
Any concrete info on whether camping would be OK?
Are there long stretches without fuel or water?
If a big GS was your only bike, would you get away with it?
Reckon something like TKC80 or Scout 60 would be better than something like a Tourance?
Thanks,
Mark

HI Mark,
Sorry for the late reply - Only had the email notification of a question today!?!?!
The route passes through towns and villages so you could sort yourself with accommodation if your Portuguese is up to scratch - or play the dumb tourist as I did. Wild Camping is technically Illegal (IIRC) in Portugal so do so at your own risk (I had no issue).
I did it on TKC's on a fairly stock F650GS - would you green lane on a 1200GS? - if so, go for it!
HTH,
Rich

Good trail, but some parts are now closed. Padlocks on a few gates but just re-route using gps. One bit was clearly a deer park and we turned back. The zig zags down the steps to the river and up the other side wouldn't suit a novice or big bike. I have co-ordinates if needed. Mainly easy trails but the hard bits are hard. The railway where you follow the line under the flyover is so overgrown it's not worth the hassle. Again I have co-ordinates if required.
