Itinerary description

Duration: 5 hours, 20 minutes
The weather was perfect: sun with occasional cloud.

I got the 10:35 bus to El Bailadero from La Laguna Intercambiador, which arrived around 11:45.

The route across the mountains of Anaga (El Pijaral) was great: mostly forested, and you're running along a ridge of the highest points in Anaga, and so get views into valleys on both sides. The forest kept me mostly shielded from the sun at the highest point of the day, with occasional vistas to break up the monotony of forest.

The route down to Faro de Anaga (with the lighthouse) was a bit steeper and rockier, and more exposed. Great views of the coast, the Roques de Anaga out at sea. Then the trail becomes more dangerous underfoot with narrow ledges, scree, and rockier.

At El Draguillo, the path becomes a road and you're more or less running on concrete and bitumen until the end.

I intended to get the 17:30 bus from Afur, but wasn't going to make it in time. Instead, I got the 18:20 bus from Taganana.

I ran most of the way. Some bits are too steep, some too rocky.
