Itinerary description
The Appenzeller Alpenweg is a two days round walking tour promoted by the tourism office of Appenzell, so, I run it in a day 😉
Itinerary:
Urnäsch
Hochalp
Chräzerenpass
Schwägalp
Chammhalde
Petersalp
Urnäsch
Quite an easy path, follow yellow signs. Rarely seen so much signs btw. That being said, at the end of my run I deviated from the route which adds (unfortunately) 1-2km of asphalt.
The round trip is open to anyone, therefore the technical difficulty is easy. However I find a bit tricky to keep a rythm. Lots of cows, fields to open and close notably.
It's a lovely run, easy and, cherry on tops, really few people. Maybe it's because it was raining in the morning but rarely met so few people along the way.
