Itinerary description
Drive to Pragelpass
The route is a "figure of eight" with some minor section that you will run twice.
It aims to show most of two classical routes from Pragelpass
- Bödmerenwald (original forest allowed to live/regenerate without human intervention)
- Silberen (eroded limestone peak)
Best time of the year to do this is when the route is dry. Try to avoid recent rain-ice as it is quite stony and it can be slippery when wet.
The first forested section is runnable but watch out for a lot of wet stones.
The uphill to Silberen is slow as the path mingles with those funny stone formations and you have to keep an eye where you put your feet.
Actual metres climbed is +1800. Wikiloc not measuring correctly.
The views are very good, from Silberen particularly.
The last run down to Pragelpass is through a dual track dirt road, flowy and with views.
Net moving time was 4hrs 15.
