Itinerary description
Maaser el chouf 50k race with 4seasonsmountaintrails
I started in Maaser square towards Mresti on the LMT before doing a U turn to head back to Maaser.
From there, i took the steep ascent towards the Maaser reserve. It’s a tough climb ~800m of elevation in couple of KM.
After that, the trail continues to Barouk artificial lake than a ridge climb from Barouk to Ain Zhalta.
From Ain Zhalta, I ran to the furthest point in Ain Dara before dropping ~ 600m (first part technical, second just an easy flat/downhill).
Reaching the Ain Zhalta reserve entrance was the 35km mark, where i filled my bladder and recharged with solid food.
At this point, i was not able to run much due to my knee injury/pain.
Every time i started pushing i was cramping although my hydration/nutrition were on point.
Anyways, those are just excuses and a reason to push more while training.
From the 35km mark, i was just aiming to finish the race without injuring myself and within the cutoff time.
I made it and gained 2 ITRA points.
Stay hard.
