Itinerary description
Mountain trail ,Started at Pollys toilets an headed to Mt Nimmel via Austinville Rd back to Pollys, over Pollys to Cnr pine creek and Murwilimbah to water crossings trail but at last crossing took the advanced trail that veers off to left a steady 1 km incline to a 300 meters peak where to a very steep decline then over to the 900 steps up to Apple tree park 600 meters to the top don't !!! do this part without gps if first time from apple tree park to Pollys ,

this was an over night run was dark by the 15 km point so definitely take enough battery's , i use the app '' 3D Maps " on my iphone and actually has the full length of " The Great Walk " trail marked out on the topo map when you download this area which worked real good for me that night as it follows the trail all the way up to apple tree park , i had not done this trail before and it was about 3am with thick and tall scrub before i found the clear track which is signified by the steps (stone fashioned into solid steps intermittently staggered all the 600 mtrs up to the top ) the app the app lets you fully cycle its image 360 degrees and being in real time showing you exactly where you are is an invaluable tool in times like this , be sure to take a power pack for your phone
