Itinerary description
Start and finish area shift as the Olympus Mythical Trail (OMT) gets a new home in Aiyiannis! Without changing anything else in the course of the race, the start and the finish area shift to Aiyiannis from Lakkos in Litohoro, for the area that until now was a central aid station. Start of the race also changes to 18:00 Friday, 1 July 2016 instead of midnight of the same day. With the move to Aiyiannis park, a completely natural camping area, organization feels that the people around the race will have space and the means to form a close-knit community at the outskirts of Olympus core natural reserve area. Equally important is the change in race route profile, characterized by a harmonious transition from the Alpine landscape to the finish without the prior loop-like transition back towards the start.
