Itinerary description

Route done on 2.2.2020 with rain and sleet, in large group with plenty of stops

From Päffikon SZ station you have a pretty constant uphill run to the Etzelpass.

From there on, route goes on a small road that will cross the Sihl river in one of those typically Swiss roofed bridges.

Soon you will enter an area that in Winter should be covered in Snow and and full of Cross Country ski tracks (Schwedentritt). This particular winter it was snow free.

From there on it is a gentle down to Biberbrugg station and then follow signs for Rothenturm.

The path will also go through what is the longer loop of the Finnenloipe cross country ski section (this time without snow).

From there on we followed signs to St. Jost, then to Oberaegeri, Unteraegeri and finally Zugerberg.

Net moving time was 4h21 min, so quite relaxed and in a group. In summer/dry conditions it should be runnable under 3h30min. There is no complicated terrain. Pretty much all hills have gradients which make them runnable both up and down. Even if you will clock in over 1300 meters of ascent it is ascent that you will be able to take advantage of on descents.
