Two typical Aussie bushland reserves. Went trailrunning along the numerous firetrails to clock up some K's.
I ran along (as in "ON") the interstate QLD/NSW Freight line for the initial segment - this is actually harder to do than one would imagine. The sleepers on this line are concrete with large 70mm stones filling the in-between gaps - so kicking the stones whilst running was a common thing.
Came to the Logan Motorway at the rail-line overpass and pretty much ran along the fence line. The YouTube video will show that I basically ran along the perimeter edge of both forests. I actually enjoy doing this as it gives me a better feel of the size and enormity of a bushland as I get to know it more intimately - and then I usually begin to explore the inner sections for all those hidden little trails.
Overall, a nice place for trailrunning or simply walking for fitness. Don't expect any wondrous or spectacular views, but this place is on my way home and its good to just stop and explore. Check it out for yourself if you're into this kind of thing.
