Itinerary description

The Ultra Irta Experience - A roundtrip in the scenic Sierra de Irta mountains and coast. This ultra marathon trail takes you through a natural reserve, passing ancient ruins of castles, watchtowers and settlements.

Castillo de Peñiscola - Ermita de Sant Antoni - Castell de Santa Magdalena de Polpís - Castell de Xivert - Torre Ebrí - Ermita de Santa Lucia i Sant Benet - Port de Alcossebre - Punta del Pebret - Torre Badúm - Castillo de Peñiscola.

First part is the hilliest, with two notable ascends and one descent after la Ermita de Santa Lucía to Alcossebre. For the most the route is on single track and gravel roads, but beware of traffic when returning to Peñiscola by the scenic tarmac road at the last 2-3 kilometers.
