🇪🇸 🇺🇸 | Via ferrata del Estrecho (K3/K3+) + Rápel | Ayódar (Castellón)

🇪🇸 Español: Vía ferrata del Estrecho (K3/K3+), situada en Ayódar (Castellón). Está categorizada como K3, pero es importante saber que tiene algunos pasos un poco complicados que nos pueden poner a prueba. Por eso hemos afinado con K3+.

Desde Valencia, se llega fácilmente en una hora más o menos. La vía ferrata está justo a la salida del pueblo de Ayodar. Cuenta con un descampado para poder aparcar. La aproximación es de unos 20 minutos. Hay varias maneras de llegar ya que el camino en sí no está bien trazado. Según las épocas del año, se encontrarán con más o menos agua en el río. El entorno es muy bonito con zonas para bañarse y además cuenta con vías de escalada.

La vía ferrata empieza con un interesante desplome, que nos pone a prueba. La ferrata en sí está bien hecha, con grapas y de vez en cuando necesitaremos ayudarnos con la roca. Hay algunos otros desplomes pero son más fáciles que el primero. Cuenta con dos péndulos largos. En total son unos 110 metros de recorrido.

Al acabar la ferrata, hay dos opciones para volver:

1) Bajar en rápel (lo que hicimos nosotros). Son unos 45m que nos lleva casi al inicio de la vía ferrata. Desde allí podremos repetir o volver por donde hemos venido.
2) Bajar por una senda caminando. Al final de la vía ferrata, hay carteles que indican el camino.

La ferrata tiene algunos pasos complicados y quizás no sea para principiantes. Es una ferrata muy interesante y con un bonito entorno.

🇺🇸 English: Via ferrata of Estrecho de Ayodar (K3/K3+), located in Ayódar (Castellón). It is categorized as K3, but it is important to know that it has some complicated steps that can put us to the test. That is why we have rated it K3+.

From Valencia, it is easily reached in an hour or so. The via ferrata is just outside the town of Ayodar. It has a field to park. The approach is about 20 minutes. There are several ways to get there as the path itself is not well laid out. Depending on the time of year, you will find more or less water in the river. The environment is quite beautiful with areas for swimming and also has climbing routes.

The via ferrata begins with an interesting overhang, which puts us to the test. The ferrata itself is well made and maintained, with steel rungs and occasionally we will need to help ourselves up using the rock. There are a few other slight overhangs but they are much easier than the first. There are two long chain swings. In total, there are about 110 meters of travel.

At the end of the ferrata, there are two options to return:

1) Rappel down (what we did). It is about 45m that takes us almost to the beginning of the via ferrata. From there we can repeat or go back where we came from.
2) Go along the return path. At the top of the via ferrata, there are signs indicating the way.

The ferrata has some tricky steps and may not be for beginners. It is a very interesting ferrata and with a beautiful environment.
