Itinerary description
Aviso: En abril 2023, cuando nosotros hicimos esta ruta, nos quedamos bloqueados en el rappel número 2. Se ve que hubo un desprendimiento y el agua se quedó estancada. Era imposible bajar sin mojarse (desconocimos la profundidad), con lo cual decidimos de hacer marcha atrás. Por suerte, el rappel número 1 era fácil de trepar.
Situada a menos de 100 km de Valencia, la vía ferrata de La Piqueta es fácil de acceso. Hay espacio para poder aparcar varios coches, justo al inicio del camino hacia la vía ferrata.
La aproximación para llegar al inicio de la vía ferrata es de unos 10 minutos. El camino no está bien marcado. Hay que seguir el barranco recto, hasta llegar a un amontonado de piedras y un pequeña flecha, que nos indicará el cruce y el inicio de la vía ferrata. Para no perderse, aconsejamos que siguán bien nuestro track.
La vía ferrata en sí no tiene dificultades. Es corta y bien hecha. Hay algunas anillas durante el recorrido para bajar en rappel si hace falta. Al final de la vía ferrata, se toma la senda que está a mano izquierda. Se sube un poco de pedrera hasta llegar al sendero. Bajando, nos encontramos con un mirador, que nos ofrece una bonita vista sobre la ciudad.
Al bajar, se puede volver al coche o dirigirse hacia el barranco. Nosotros quisimos hacer el barranco. Por desgracia, como comentado anteriormente, no pudimos pasar el segundo rappel por culpa del agua.

🇺🇸 English: Via ferrata La Piqueta, level K2, located in Espadilla, in the province of Castellón. This via ferrata is short and can be combined with the Carbonera ravine.
Warning: In April 2023, when we did this route, we got stuck in rappelling number 2. It seems that there was a landslide and the water was stagnant. It was impossible to go down without getting wet (we didn't know the depth), so we decided to go back. Luckily rappel number 1 was easy to climb.
Located less than 100 km from Valencia, the La Piqueta via ferrata is easy to access. There is space to park several cars, right at the beginning of the path to the via ferrata.
The approach to reach the beginning of the via ferrata is about 10 minutes. The path is not well marked. You have to follow the ravine straight until you reach a pile of stones and a small arrow, which will indicate the crossroads and the start of the via ferrata. In order not to get lost, we advise you to follow our track well.
The via ferrata itself has no difficulties. It is short and well done. There are some rings along the way to rappel down if necessary. At the end of the via ferrata, take the path on the left. You go up a bit of quarry until you reach the path. Going down, we find a viewpoint, which offers us a nice view over the city.
Going down, you can go back to the car or head towards the ravine. We wanted to do the ravine. Unfortunately, as previously mentioned, we could not pass the second rappel due to the water.
