Itinerary description
Ferrata El Hacho, very near Gaucin. A longer ferrata with quite a lot of vertical overhangs culminating in a horrible narrow metal ladder that is only attached at the top and bottom thus adding to the difficulty as it twists and turns as you climb… then you climb over the rocks at the top and make your way along the ridge and finally left downhill along the edge of a field through the woods. Look for double blue lines indicating path.
We consulted Deandar website and they said it was closed. We called the town hall of Gaucin who confirmed it was open. Obviously work has been done as a new zip line has been added since we last did it but we weren’t carrying our pulleys unfortunately! Definitely K3 but the steel ladder makes it more of a challenge… however it can be avoided if you’re not feeling too strong.
