Itinerary description
Interesting mountain where they have created a K2, K3, K4 and K6 ferrata, all interrelated. We did the k2 (which some would consider a K3) and k3 which have interesting features, a little pendulum across a crack in the rocks and a more demanding climb down through a narrow vertical cave, using only chains and the odd staple (not suitable for big people or beginners!)
The approach isn’t a bad walk up through bush following paths and the return is similar.
Fabulous views of the Santa Ana reservoir from the top, by the bridge.
There’s a big pendulum you can do with the K4, but we didn’t have time.
We were lucky we were with someone who knew her way around and was able to guide us. Although the installations are good, there are NO signs whatsoever, so that needs improving.
I forgot to start recording for the first 10 mins of approach. We parked in a lovely picnic area below and had lunch before we started ! It is a full loop.
It was 27 degrees full sun on an October afternoon, so take water!
