Itinerary description
Today we went along Maeda river and then moved to the beach near Tateishi in Miura.
Taking advantage of a sunny day during the rainy season we decided to get some fresh air. Maeda river has a short trail on its side and it's possible and highly recommended to walk in the river. It's relatively shallow but not enough to let a 1-year old play so I carried my son all the way and only let him dip his feet in the water at one point. When we got to a sign indicating danger at around 2/3 of the trail I decided to go right and leave the stream. It turned out to be a series of long stairs and after a while I realized there was nothing interesting unless we went all the way to the summit but that was too far so we came back.
On the way down we walked on the road to go faster and find a restaurant for lunch. When we passed a shop the owner talked us into going inside to taste some jams. Shortly it became obvious we couldn't leave without buying any so we ended up with a super pricey lemon jam. ジャムおじいさん pointed us towards a restaurant names "Don" near Tateishi bus stop. We went there and due to the lack of other alternatives we went in while thinking it was going to be expensive.
We both ordered one of the cheapest dishes (no lunch menu on week-ends) the fish was great and better looking than the meat. Overall I think it was a great place with a balcony overlooking the ocean just meters below.
We then moved to the beach. Louis was a bit impressed by the ocean and didn't really want to get in the water. On the other hand he was glad to play in the small streaming ending its course in the ocean, just a few meters before the coastline.
Overall it was a great outing and we managed to fit everything in less than 5 hours. Transportation was more tiring as Louis wasn't really tired.
