Itinerary description
A very warm spring day, still March but it felt like May weather.
In the morning I checked the list of places with cherry blossoms, most were too early and only a few places had trees barely starting to bloom according to some website. In fact most trees were in full bloom at the 2 parks we visited. We went first to Nogeyama zoo, a small but free zoo, with a giraffe, lion and tiger among the key animals.
After Nogeyama we dropped by Kamon yama park, on the top part a bunch of cherry trees with numerous groups of people enjoying their time while drinking beers sitting on the ubiquitous blue tarp sheet. I will never understand the blue sheet, it is just so ugly. Louis was busy throwing pebbles at the pigeons but his aim is still about as good as random and he could never get close enough to be a real threat.
The lower part of the park is a very small Japanese garden with a small pond, interesting but very small so we didn't stay long. Next to it there is a playground with a slide and a small fountain, more like a faucet throwing water in the air when it is turned on. Louis was playing around and while I lowered my guard dashed towards the fountain and the next thing I know is that he was all wet with a big smile on his face, more water splashing on his hair. Kids can really have fun with anything.
After the parks, we moved to Minatomirai and got a ride on the ferris wheel. In the afternoon the sun is not in the best orientation but the landscape was OK and we didn't wait too much. I guess it must be better by night but also it must be crowded.
