Itinerary description
The Matamors itinerary follows the river and you can see waterfalls, caves and some old washing areas. The balustrades are caves formed by the docile travertine stone. This travertine comes from ancient lake deposits of springs located around the river Matamors and which are part of the same groundwater system of the lake of Banyoles. The two caves were used in the middle of the 20th century to shelter beggars, who stayed there, as evidenced by the dark marks of when they set fire to warm themselves during the winter that still exists today. they are seen in the travertine. A few meters from the balms we find the Salt Dalmau washing machine, which had been shared by the surrounding houses.
