Itinerary description
16 01 2021
This walk is part of the Senda Litoral coastal walkway.
There are two parking areas adjacent to the castle. The one near the suspension bridge is free and the other one is 1 euro for the whole day,
This is where I started the walk from.
From the parking area head up to the Sohail castle which is now open to the public and is worth a visit.
Taking the north exit from the castle, head towards the suspension bridge then turn right.
Along this route there are many access points to get to the many beaches, so you can stop off whenever you like for a picnic.
This walk will take us past 9 beaches.
1 Castillo El Ejido 800m
2 El Ejido 340m
3 Peñon del Cura 250m
4 Faro de Calaburras 870m (Lighthouse)
5 El Charcon 550m
6 Playa Marina 940m
7 El Chaparral 850m
8 Las Doradas 800m
9 La Cala 600m
The final destination will be the watchtower in La Cala.
There is usually a bus to Fuengirola every half an hour, if you don’t want to walk the same way you came.
There are some nice sea views on this walk. The only downside is the path is adjacent to the N340
