Itinerary description
An 8 km mostly gentle stroll through shaded woods, open fields and some quiet country lanes. Start at Mas Sant Nicolau. Cross the track opposite the gate (follow cycle route signs), down hill to stream (usually without water). Initial steep climb on stony, uneven path to the Pontos-Canelles road. Spectacular views of the Pyrenees before long gentle descent on the Canelles-Navata old road. Fork right following the telegraph poles or the track just after them, through the woods to open fields. Turn left and follow track to the end. At the T junction turn right, bend left to follow row of mature olive trees and rejoin the Canelles Navata road. Turn right, over river bridge, up hill to next t juntion. Turn right, follow track through open fields to crossroad Turn right just before water authority shed, follow track around fields, straight on at T junction (farm entrance road on the right). Continue to crossroads after woods. Turn right at Sant Nicolau sign to return to Mas Sant Nicolau.
