Itinerary description
On reaching the Rio Higuerón it is an easy river bed walk with no water for approx. 2miles. On reaching the hill that climbs to La Molineta turn right up cement road on opposite side. After 500metres you will observe a cement road running up to you left rather steeply, There is a directional arrow stating “quinto pino”, walk up this hill until reaching the driveway to a house on your left. You have reached the start of a steep climb on a single dirt track between trees starting behind the signs for hunting in this area. The climb to the summit should take approximately 45mins.
The summit gives spectacular views 360’. Walking around the shrine you will locate a dirt track heading downhill away from your ascent. Stay on this track until reaching a 4x4 road which goes off to the left. Walking on this will return you to the start of your steep climb. Walking downhill the turn left towards Rio Chillar on a cement road all the way back to Nerja. Enjoy.
