Itinerary description
Short steep climb up to volcano rim, then easy paths down into the base. garnets can be seen in some of the rocks, but multiple small stones can be found in the dry river beds amongst the sand. Climbing out the far side is a steep rocky climb with some scrambling. At the top, the path follows the rim of of the volcano with some stunning views lots of wild grass and shrubs to scratch legs in shorts.. The descent is also steep, rocky and lots of gravel to lose your footing on. Strong shoes , Long trousers and sturdy legs and feet are needed for the climbs and descents on this route, but the rewards are magnificent views of the volcano and surrounding hills. Final Comment, there are no clear paths so following a gpx is the best guide for directions and still you will be finding your own path in places
