Itinerary description
Tour around the historic city of Girona, Catalonia. Starting at Plaça Catalunya, walk into the walls of the city surrounding the old town until the old church of Sant Domènech, nowadays become university. Walk down thru the archaeological path, to the arabian baths, the churches of Sant Pere and Sant Nicolau de Galligans, both built in the 12th century.
Admire Sant Feliu, kiss the lion's ass at Cul de la Lleona, it's a tradition of the city. Go up the stairs of the cathedral, go inside, the second largest Gothic nave in the world in the middle column-free.
Get lost in the Jewish Quarter and finally walk into La Rambla, cross the river by the Eiffel Bridge, and end it seeing the City Hall.
Recommendations:
- Not for disabled people
- Hard for elderly people and child
- Constant ups and downs
- Cobbled sections
- Take a bottle of water with you
- I advise against doing the route in summer, due to the high temperatures and the humidity
- Although the time stops at 1,5h, it takes about 2h - 3h
You can see photos here: http://www.fotopaises.com/fotos/ES-fotos-Girona-6.htm
Highly recommended! Won't dissapoint you!
PS: As you can see, in a concretely point it goes crazy, I don't know why, but I'm sure it works.
