Itinerary description
A pedestrian suspension bridge accesses a mountain stream and viewpoints across the river on the SW side of town. There are traditional river canoe and rafting trips along the river in summer. There is a free outdoor hot spring foot bath in the town square in front of the railway station. Pizza and other restaurants in and around the main square.
At the opposite side of town there are two statues on a bridge crossing the river, and the only female "Oni" is also here, beside the best outdoor hot spring foot bath, and with a view along the river gorge. Japanese crows and other birds are very active in the winter forest around that area. The call of these crows is very different from familiar North American types. There is a large saki shop near the end of the track.

Train Station, Main Plaza
Oni #5, located here, is the biggest seen. The main Town plaza is here, in front of the train station. There is a free outdoor hot spring foot bath. Pizza and other restaurants are in and around the square.

Closes at 5 PM as do many restaurants around time, the public areas are quiet before dark, so drink sake at home with your wife, as per the advice of an ancient sage.

A wide pedestrian bridge, there is a indoor hot spring spa (admission fee) at the NW end, its facilities are visible from the bridge. Another Oni here.

Free outdoor hot spring foot bath
Located at another bridge crossing, two statues on the bridge, and the only female Oni in front of the free hot spring foot bath. This is said to be the best free foot bath in town.
