Itinerary description
Strenuous walk, starting with quite difficult path finding along south side of Cwm Pennant and road to interesting church in Pennant Melangell. Steep climb and descent into Cwm Rhiwarth, and then another steep climb over Y Clogydd, with tricky pathfinding in several places and good forest roads in others. Descent over open moorland towards cliffs above Pistyll Rhaeadr. Crossed Afon Disgynfa via footbridge upstream from falls. Wonderful display of falls both above and below the main drop. Crossed footbridge at base of falls and walked interesting path through woodland and bracken before going up old mining road, crossing flat area before steep descent and lovely finish through woods and old slate quarries on way to well deserved beer in Llandynog!
