Osunillas to Mirador de la Cantera Arenales
This walk starts from the car park of the Osunillas football stadium / municipal swimming pool and the Guardia Civil Barracks.
Adjacent to the Guardia Civil there is a driveway that leads up to a hidden path which is nicely shaded.
Along the route you will come across an old irrigation system that was made from typical Spanish roof tiles. Most of it has been destroyed now.
There is a bit of a climb until you get to the Arenales quarry, then it levels off.
The last 200m to the Mirador is a bit of a scramble, but you get some lovely views from the Mirador.
The return journey I used the quarry road going down to try and make the walk circular (which is optional).
If you cross over the main road at the start of the walk there is a Bar Osunillas on your left which is a good place to have a drink and a tapas.
Directions to start of walk.
Coming from Fuengirola towards Mijas Village with the BP on your left, take the turning on your right at the roundabout (Towards Benalmadena). Drive along the A368 for 1Km and turn left at the Municipal Swimming pool & Guardia Civil Headquarters, signposted on your left. Park behind the swimming pool as there is ample parking.
