Paseo Morisco
The Moorish Walk Monda
On the stroll through the typically steep, narrow labyrinth-like streets you will come across the Incarnation church, which used to be the site of the ancient mosque. From here the walk goes on to the Al-Mundat castle, (Castillo de Monda), which today is a luxurious hotel.
From here the walk goes to the Fuente Mea Mea and then to the Cruz de Caravaca which has some wonderful views of the village and its surrounding land.
On the downward part you arrive at the Casa Museo de Marigloria, looked after by Gloria who takes exquisite care of the museum and its visitors.
You then pass another Fountain – Fuente de la Esquina ( Fountain by the corner)
To finish off the walk you will pass some water fountains, one of the most outstanding of which is named the Fuente de la Jaula as this was an ancient washing place used back in the Nazari dynasty.
Two lovely places to have tapas and watch the world go by are Bar Los Carboneros
And Bar La Luna a stone’s throw from the Monda car park.
