Playa El Chaparral, Senda Litoral, Mijas
I started this walk in La Cala adjacent Parque La Butibamba as you can usually find parking (high season will be a lot more difficult).
Making your way along Arroyo La Cala (in need of repair!), pick up the Senda Litoral and then pick up the path adjacent the N340 by going up the steps.
There is an interesting house – Virgen Bella Lepe made from a large ship which is on your right just before going down the Arroyo de los Moros and going onto the El Chaparral beach which has a nice Chiringuito named Wazza.
El Chaparral beach is 850m in length which then merges into Las Doradas beach which is 800m in length.
It’s a lovely beach stroll back to La Cala with the sun behind you.
I found both these beaches surprisingly quiet and clean.
I eventually stopped off at one of my favourite bakeries - Bsweet, for a late breakfast.
It’s a nice easy beach walk of around 4.5km.
