Itinerary description
On well maintained, parallel walking and bicycle trails from Rocky Point Park on the south side to Old Orchard Park on the north side (return). Lots of seabird activity, including tight flocks of shorebirds in flight (see pictures). Large parking lot at Rocky Point Park (free with 4-hr limit) where there are also facilities and a fish and chips kiosk. The track includes a walk to the end of the pier.
There are ruins along the north shore; remnants of the pioneer forest industry.
The track includes a side-trip past sports fields and the Theatre to a nearby farmer's market and shops in an upscale part of Port Moody. There are options for coffee and snacks (or more) here, including a rare Irish Pub with Smithicks on tap.
