I have gone to a lot of carnivals of the Mediterranean towns of Catalonia, and the Vilanova i la Geltrú's one, is the funniest, sweetest and more colorful of all.
Imagine a town full of candy, to the point that by the end of the day, you have to throw away your shoes, because the sole of the shoe is full of a dirty mass of candy.
Most of the center of the town becomes a party area where groups dance and throw candy to everyone.
Not only the little ones bend over to pick up the sweets from the floor, but mysteriously the old ones get rid of the evils of age, because they pick up with more impetus than any other generation.
In this trail, you will see some images of this 2018 Sunday and some "candy battles" from the different groups in the main square of Vilanova i la Geltrú.
