Slavín
Slavin is a military monument and cemetery located in Bratislava (Slovakia) that was built in tribute to soldiers of the Soviet army who died during World War II in April 1945 while releasing this city from the military units of ' occupation pertaining to the German army and the remains of the Slovakian troops that supported the government of Josef Tiso. It is located on a hill in the middle of a neighborhood of embassies and luxurious residences near the center of Bratislava. The monument, which has been declared a National Cultural Monument, was inaugurated in 1960 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the liberation of the city by the Soviet troops. In the nearby cemetery 6845 soldiers are buried.
